Office of Indian Affairs Detroit March 1st 1839.

Sir:

Agreeably to instructions from the War Department, H. R. Schoolcraft Esq. acting Supt. Indian Affairs designated the following chiefs, to whom the debt claims are to be submitted under the Treaty of January 14th 1837, which I deem proper to transmit you.

  • Oge ma ke keegido from Saganaw
  • Don da fun nbe From Flint River
  • Ca ge be ga From From Tatepaywasake (Tittabaswassee?)
  • Wasse From Saline
  • Ma she ga shink From Cass River
  • Muckuday Kaniew From River Au Sable
  • Oge maus From Cedar River

Henry Conner Esq. Sub Agent is instructed to assemble the above named chiefs, at such time as you may require their action on said claims.
