WM. J. DRIGGS DIES IN EVART

Saturday evening, Dec. 12, occurred the death of William J. Driggs, who for the past two years had resided at the hom of N. W. Ely in Evart, Mrs. Ely being a sister of the deceased. The home of Dr. Driggs was formerly in Saginaw, where he had a host of friends and where one brother still resides. During the latter part of his life he duperintended for many years the transfer of mails in Saginaw. Mr. Driggs was a lieutenant of the only company of Indians formed durig the civil war, and subsequently was first lieutenant in the regular army. He was the eldest son of Hon. John F. Driggs, who represented for eight years teh sixth congressional district of Michigan, during the trying days of the civil war. Mr. Driggs was a man of the finest personal traits and a character of usual integrity and distinction. The funeral services will take place Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at the Frazee parlors.
